Master Data Management

One version of the customer, and the product, and the supplier.

Master data management consultancy for UK businesses that are tired of reconciling three versions of the same customer across CRM, ERP and the billing system. Proportionate MDM that a mid market team can actually run.

Master data management has a reputation for enormous programmes that never quite finish. That reputation is fair for the way MDM used to be sold. It does not have to be that way. In most mid market UK businesses an MDM programme can be scoped in a small number of domains, delivered in phases, and made durable without a seven figure platform.

Our MDM consultancy focuses on the customer, product, supplier and employee domains, which is where nearly all real value sits. We use the tools your business is already invested in. Microsoft Fabric for the data platform, Purview for the catalogue and lineage, Dynamics 365 or Salesforce as the CRM system of record, and Power BI for the stewardship reporting.

The point of an MDM programme is not to build a perfect ontology. It is to reduce the amount of time your teams spend arguing about which record is the right one, and to let your reporting stack tie back to a single trusted view.

Domains we cover most often

Four domains, priced separately, delivered in sequence.

Customer master

Deduplication and matching across CRM, ERP, ticketing and marketing platforms. A single customer ID and a set of golden records that flows back to source systems.

Product master

Product hierarchy, attributes, units of measure and pricing rules reconciled across ERP, ecommerce and PIM. The single biggest lift for retail and distribution clients.

Supplier master

One version of every supplier across procurement, finance and quality. Includes onboarding, risk scoring and compliance attributes.

Employee and workforce

HR system of record integrated with IT identity, payroll, learning and expense platforms. Groundwork for reliable HR analytics.

Approach

A pragmatic MDM playbook.

We tend to pick a single domain, prove the pattern in twelve weeks, then extend. That gives everyone confidence in the approach before the programme grows. The first domain nearly always pays for itself through recovered analyst time and fewer costly errors.

Ongoing operation is the part most programmes underinvest in. We build the steward workflow, the exception queue and the reporting from the beginning, so the platform stays healthy after go live.

01

Domain discovery

Interviews with the people who own the pain. Source list, current match logic, duplicate rate baseline.

02

Match and merge design

Rules for automatic matching, thresholds for manual review, golden record survivorship logic. Signed off before build.

03

Build and integrate

Pipelines, matching engine, golden record store, write back to source systems where it is safe.

04

Steward operations

Workflow for the exception queue, quality scorecard, monthly steward reviews with our team present.

05

Extend

Next domain, following the same shape. The second domain is usually half the effort of the first.
