How we cover the whole country
Our office is in the North West, but the majority of the work we do happens over Teams, shared screens and a repository both sides can see. That model has worked well for clients in London, Bristol, Cardiff, Norwich, Glasgow and everywhere in between. A typical week involves a short stand up with the client team, a few working sessions with whoever owns the underlying systems, and a demo of what changed. Distance stops mattering once the rhythm is set, and it keeps costs down because you are not paying for travel time you did not ask for.
Where being in the room genuinely helps, we go. For clients across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Merseyside, Yorkshire, the North East and the Midlands we are happy to visit on site for kick off workshops, requirement gathering with operational teams, training days and go live support. That is usually the right call at the start of a piece of work, when the questions are still vague and you learn more from watching people work than from a call.
Data strategy that fits the organisation you actually are
Most of our engagements begin with some form of data strategy conversation, though we try to keep it short. The useful version names the decisions you want to make better, the questions behind them, the systems that hold the answers and the person who will own each area. Two pages of that beats a bound document nobody opens. We will tell you honestly when a warehouse, a governance programme or a Fabric capacity is not yet worth the money, and what to spend the budget on instead.
A sensible data strategy also names what you are not going to do this year. Plenty of organisations get talked into rebuilding everything at once. In practice, picking one reporting area, delivering it properly, and using the lessons to shape the next one produces better results and far less risk. That approach works the same whether you are a fifteen person practice or a group with several trading entities.
Management data leaders can trust
A lot of the value we add is in management data: the board pack, the monthly finance review, the operations meeting, the sales pipeline that never quite agrees with the accounts. We take the measures that matter to your leadership team, agree a single definition for each of them, build them once in a semantic model, and surface them through Power BI so the same number appears wherever it is quoted. It sounds unglamorous. It is usually the thing that stops the arguments.
Alongside that we handle the plumbing that makes the numbers reliable: pulling data out of the ERP, CRM, finance and operational systems, cleaning it, joining it, and scheduling refreshes so the reports are current when the meeting starts. Where the source data is messy we say so early and quantify the problem rather than quietly patching it in a report.
A long term relationship, not a one off build
Reporting is never finished, because businesses change. Our preference is a long term working relationship where we deliver a first piece of work, hand it over properly, and stay available for the changes that follow. Some clients keep a small monthly support arrangement. Others come back twice a year when something new needs building. Both are fine. What we try to avoid is the dependency trap where nobody internally understands the model we built, so we document as we go and train your team to take it on.
We also take a long term view of the platform itself. Choices made in month one, such as how the model is structured, how security is applied and where the data lands, decide how painful year three feels. We build with that in mind even when a quicker shortcut would look better on a first demo.
What we can help with
- Data strategy, roadmaps and honest platform advice
- Power BI consultancy and dashboard design
- Data modelling, warehousing and semantic layers
- Data governance and data quality work
- Microsoft Fabric assessments and implementation
- Power BI training for finance, operations and analyst teams
We work with every sector. Manufacturing, healthcare, professional services, retail, logistics, construction, hospitality and the public sector all show up in our client list, and the underlying discipline is the same in each.
Where our local pages are
We keep detailed pages for the towns and cities we visit most often. If your office is nearby, start there for a sense of how we work locally.
Not on the list? It makes no difference to how we work. Get in touch and tell us what you are trying to fix, and we will give you an honest first step and a clear price for it.
